An outspoken soul, she was never shy about sharing her thoughts, always managing to do so with a good-natured humor that endeared her to many. Her infectious spirit was matched only by her unwavering love for her family; nothing brought her more pride than her children and grandchildren. Irma was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kimberly Dodson, and her son, Lance Dodson, and a proud grandmother to Lashira Dodson, Laqueita Dodson, Kimby Dodson, Batrice Triggs, Lance Dodson II, and nine great-grandchildren. Their laughter and presence were her greatest accomplishments, the jewels of her heart.
Irma’s passion her favorite snacks—a delightful blend of banana, Pepsi, and Lay's potato chips that brought comfort and nostalgia. In her downtime, she found joy watching Westerns or turning the pages of her beloved Bible, her source of wisdom and strength.
At the heart of Irma’s story lies the essence of family. She shared an enduring bond with her sister, Rose Banks, alongside a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives, all of whom were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Irma also carried the weight of loss, remembering with fondness her four brothers, three sisters, and her son, James Coleman, who preceded her in death. Each cherished memory of them lingered in her heart, shaping the very fabric of the family legacy she nurtured.
The service celebrating Irma’s remarkable life will commence with a viewing on December 17, 2025, at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on December 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas.
