Cynthia Elaine Dodson, age 73, of Lake Park Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Langdale Hospice House. Born on January 20, 1952, in Bainbridge, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Edward Dodson and Odeline Green Dodson.
Cynthia was a devoted and caring soul who cherished her family deeply and loved the Lord. She had a passion for sewing and often mended clothes for her loved ones, demonstrating her nurturing spirit through simple acts of kindness. In 2014, she moved to Valdosta to be closer to her family, dedicating herself to their care and happiness.
Cynthia enjoyed many joyful moments at Cherokee Park, where she often spent time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her favorite shared pleasures was enjoying ice cream sandwiches with them, creating treasured memories through these sweet, simple moments. She was also avid reader and an animal lover, having shared her life with numerous cats and dogs over the years, most recently her dear dog Candy.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Robert Ellis of Naylor; her life companion, Douglas Williams of Vada, GA; grandchildren Leslie Faircloth Shaffer of Lake Park, Trey and Erica Faircloth of Lake Park, Colby Ellis of Valdosta, and Dalton and Greyson Ellis of Lake Park; as well as her great-grandchildren Anslee Elayne Shaffer, Adalyn Marie Shaffer, Brooklen Solis Faircloth, Taylor Ward Faircloth, Carter Ian Mithen Faircloth and McKenna Lee Faircloth. Cynthia is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Cynthia is preceded in death by her brothers Coy Eugene Dodson and Clarence “Eddie” Dodson, both of Vada, GA.
A funeral service to honor Cynthia’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial be at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Vada Ga.
