Yvonne Binyon Kimmel, 83, of Lake Park, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health. She was born on March 7, 1942, to the late Arthur and Renee Jurd Binyon. She was the co-owner of Special Memories Carriages and recently retired from Commercial Banking Company after 28 years with the Mortgage Department. She previously worked as a cashier with Shorty’s Steakhouse. She had also been employed with the civil service in the United Kingdom and had worked at RAF Lakenheath and was the secretary for the base commander and RAF Alconbury in charge of Pass and ID. Yvonne loved her horses and enjoyed horseback riding, target shooting and fishing. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jonathan Kimmel of Lake Park; a daughter, Dawn Ives (Martin) of Nashville, Georgia; her grandchildren, Michelle Ives (Hector), Christina Ives (Jarvis), Elizabeth Blakey (Brandon), and Michael Tepper-Ives (Rosa); great-grandchildren, Collin Ives, Alexia Moore (Josh), Dylan Chavies, Jeremy Chavies, Declan Chavies, Sincere Rutledge, Jayleigh Edmonds, Emmaleigh Blakey, Hayleigh Blakey; great-great-grandchildren, Kevin Moore and Lincoln Moore. She was preceded by her brother, Peter Binyon.
A graveside service for Yvonne Kimmel will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Yancey Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
