Elizabeth Gaskins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Lake Park community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at LakePark of Madison in Madison, Florida. Born on August 7, 1951, in Hahira, she was the daughter of the late Burnes and Pauline Singletary Simmons.
Elizabeth dedicated much of her life to the hotel industry, where she was known for her hard work and warm spirit. A woman of faith, she found joy and comfort in attending church, living her life as a devoted follower and active participant in her spiritual community. Elizabeth was a loving family matriarch whose greatest joys came from spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Elizabeth nurtured a passion for Word Search puzzles, a hobby that brought her relaxation and delight. Her gentle nature and commitment to family and faith are remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband, Wallace Gaskins; her daughter, Nancy (Tony) Carter; her son and daughter-in-law, Wallace III (Evelyn) Gaskins; grandchildren Connie Carter (David), Cody (Maribel) Carter, Celeste Gaskins (Eddie), and Audrey Gaskins; and ten great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Mary Herndon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two great grandchildren, Brenton Carter and Annie Carter.
Funeral services to honor Elizabeth's life will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Enoch Creek Church, with Pastor Zack Corbett officiating. Burial will follow at Enoch Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
