Mrs. Irma Rose Hardesty, age 92, of Payneville, KY, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Brandenburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Hardesty was born November 29, 1930, the daughter of Leo and Lillie (Mills) Knott. She was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church where she actively volunteered her time and talents. She loved to cook for her family and friends and care for the elderly in her community. She also liked to quilt, raise a garden, and can the fruits of that garden.
Mrs. Hardesty was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, William Nicholas "Nickie" Hardesty; two daughters, Anna Jane Williams and Mary Alene Hardesty; two grandsons, Jonathan and Chuck Williams; three sisters, Elizabeth and Val Wathen, and Amelia Curl; and four brothers, Jim, Bob, Frank and Lamar Knott. She is survived by five children, Daniel Edward (Belinda) Hardesty, William Lee (Peggy) Hardesty, Carolyn Marie (Robert) Flatt, Joseph Lamar (Sue) Hardesty, and Kenneth Aloysius Hardesty; her son-in-law, Ronnie Williams; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and her sister, Margaret Miley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, with Rev. Ronald Knott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
