Irven Leroy Magnuson, age 89 passed away on October 16, 2023, at his home in Litchfield, MN. A Memorial Service will be held at the Litchfield Christian Church on Saturday October 21, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with visitation starting at 9:00 A.M interment to follow at Ripley Cemetery.
Irven Leroy Magnuson, the son of Adolph and Grace Magnuson, was born October 11, 1934 in Kimball, MN. After graduating from Kimball High School, he embarked on a journey of love, marrying his beloved Virginia Hoeft on July 9, 1955. Together, they created a lifelong bond that lasted for decades. A proud Navy veteran, Irven served his country aboard the USS Salisbury Sound AV13. He bravely ventured overseas, where he served in the Pacific Theater during his military service. Irven established roots in Litchfield, MN, making it his forever home in 1966. For more than three decades, he served as a skilled boiler technician at the Litchfield Power Plant until his retirement in 1997. Irven took great pride in his work and was known for his exceptional work ethic and technical expertise. Outside of his professional endeavors, Irven delighted in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed riding his electric scooter, finding solace in the gentle breeze and open road. High School basketball games became a favorite pastime, where he relished in the excitement and camaraderie with family and friends. The outdoor adventures of camping and spirited gatherings around bonfires brought him much joy and created lasting memories. As a devout member of the Litchfield Christian Church, Irven found solace and guidance in his faith. His spiritual journey provided him comfort, strength, and connectedness to his community.
Irven will forever be remembered for the love and joy he shared with his family.
Irven is survived by his children, Thad (Stacie) Magnuson of Longview, Texas, Michelle Magnuson (Scott Kocks) of St. Bonifacius, MN, Troy (Colleen) Magnuson of Superior Wisconsin, and Tagg (Mamie) Magnuson of Litchfield, MN. He is also survived by his sister Mavis; grandchildren, Bob, Trish, Kelsie(Alex), Kara (Brett), Caitlyn, Mikayla and Jenna; bonus grandchildren Kyle and Chelsea; as well as his great-grandchildren, Angelo, Lorenzo, Haddie, Gemma, Bryleigh, Drew, Fynlee, Bria, Miller, Chris, Jake, and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Magnuson; parents Adolph and Grace; brothers Wayne, Darrell and Johnny and sisters Elnora and Vera.
