Irvin Lee Foster, a man whose warmth and generosity touched every life he encountered, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025. Born on January 19, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri. Irvin built a life defined by unwavering commitment to his country and his family.

Irvin dedicated a remarkable 42 years of service to the United States military. He proudly completed 20 years of active duty in the U.S. Air Force, followed by 22 years as a civil service worker with the Navy's Military Naval Ordinance Testing Unit (NOTU). His extensive career allowed him to live and travel all over the world, an experience he deeply cherished.

Above all else, Irvin was a family man. He shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Nora Kathleen Stanford Foster.

He was a dedicated father to his children, Christina Ray (and her soulmate, Dwight Herman), Joseph Foster (and his wife, Jasmine), and Marica Foster.

His greatest joy was his grandchildren: Emily (and her spouse, Joshua Askew), Natalie, Adora, John, Joy, James, and Journey. He was also blessed to welcome one great-grandchild, Mia Nicole.

Irvin was known for his incredible kindness and was the kind of person who "would give the shirt off his back." He was a hard worker and famously friendly, often described as someone who truly never met a stranger. In his leisure time, Irvin found great relaxation and peace pursuing his passion for fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Lena Foster; his nephew, Jason Foster; and his younger brother, Robert Foster.
