Mr. Irvin Hutchins was born March 19, 1926 to the late Coley Hutchins and Viola Hood Hutchins in Dacula, Georgia. Early Saturday morning, the Lord knew that his servant was tired and opened His arms to embrace Him as he transitioned to his new home. He was preceded in death by his parents and fourteen (14) siblings.
Mr. Hutchins joined Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Dacula at a very early age. As a faithful member, he served as the primary usher for many years.
Not only did Mr. Hutchins enjoy his position as an usher, he was an avid walker. It is safe to say that he spent the majority of his life walking as opposed to riding in a vehicle. He enjoyed the outdoors. It did not matter the distance that he had to walk; he was willing to do it rather than accept a ride.
In addition to his service at the church, Irvin worked for many years at the Hill's Brothers Grocery store. Once the store closed its doors permanently, Mr. Hutchins spent his time cleaning houses for various families.
Mr. Hutchins cherished his family, his church, and his friends. He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister-in-law, Thelma Hutchins, Atlanta, Georgia, Pastor Alexander Wright, who served as his caregiver for many years, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday October 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at Dacula United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Dacula, Ga.
