Irvin Darrell Shell

Irvin Darrell Shell, "Darrell", 76, of LaFayette, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his home after a lengthy illness.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Tanya Shell, and their daughter, Evelyn Renee Shell; grandchildren, Jett and Cheyenne. He is also survived by daughters Tara Lynn Robinson; grandchildren, Kirsten and Allie, and Amanda Shell Hilton; grandchildren, Gage, Barak, Torie, Noah, and 5 great grandchildren; sister Melinda Shell (Jim) Speir and several nieces and nephews. Numerous cousins including Carl Shell (Connie) and Barbara Herrin.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Clayton Shell and Evelyn Young Coulter and a sister, Lynn Shell Sherrod.
Darrell was a member of Connect City Church, Summerville. He was a Viet Nam veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps and worked in sales with WPIE Supplies for more than 25 years.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6th, from 1 pm to the time of service at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 3pm in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastors Jared Pickard and Marvin Morrison officiating.
Interment will take place at LaFayette Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers are Terry Rauscher, Matt Willis, Dennis Bryant, Matthew Maeder, Nehemiah Russ, Ralph Tomlin, and Pete Tench.
Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Gerber and Bill Ransom.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
