Irvin was preceded in passing by his parents, James Sr., and Bernadine Sprunger and his brother, John Sprunger.
He is survived by his daughter Katie Jackson; brothers, Jim Sprunger and Robert Sprunger and several nieces and nephews.
For more than 15 years, Irvin was actively involved with Encounter Church, where he dedicated his time helping others through the food pantry and kids camp. His generosity and willingness to serve left a lasting impact on his church community and all who knew him. Above all, Irvin cherished his family. He found his greatest joy in spending time together during the holidays and family gatherings, where his humor and playful spirit – especially when harassing his nieces and nephews – brought laughter and love to every occasion.
To honor Irvin's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am at Encounter Church, 620 Robinson Rd, Jackson, MI 49203. I only knew Irv from Park Forest,I got know Irv in the last 5 years I lived there. Irv aways had a smile and gentale word he was a wonderful man a man always ready to to talk about our Savour and Lord. I will miss our chats on messager since I have moved.I know your resting easy in heavan, we will meet again
