Irvin Zimmerman Obituary
He was born February 6, 1936, in East Earl Township, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Isaac and Katie (Leinbach) Zimmerman. On November 11, 1958, in Berks County, Pennsylvania, he was united in marriage to Mabel Zimmerman, who survives of the home.
Irvin was a member of Kelsay Mennonite Church of Barnett, Missouri. He spent many years as a dairy farmer in the area.
In addition to his wife, Mabel, Irvin is survived by children, Michael Zimmerman (Cora), Nathan Zimmerman, Philip Zimmerman (Ellen), Ruth Martin (Leroy), Jacob Zimmerman (Marie), David Zimmerman (Linda), Deborah Imhoff (Joseph), Peter Zimmerman (Miriam), Phoebe Martin (Gary), Edith Leinbach (Jonathan), Rebecca Martin (Jay), Joanna Leid (Mark); siblings, Phares Zimmerman (Ada), Lucinda Newswanger (Allen), Reuben Zimmerman (Emma), Jason Zimmerman (Ada Mae) and Leah Martin (Edwin); seventy-nine grandchildren; one hundred sixty-five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Isaac and Katie, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Marian; daughter-in-law, Elaine; siblings and their spouses, Amzie Zimmerman (Suzanna), Fannie Shirk (Franklin), John Isaac Zimmerman (Lizzie), Allen Zimmerman (Susie) and Christian Zimmerman (Anna).
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the family home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Hopewell Mennonite Church in Barnett. Interment will be held in the Hopewell Mennonite Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
