January 10, 1960 - August 2, 2025
Irving Christopher Hughes, 65, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Charlottesville on January 10, 1960.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro with Rev. Dr. Rickey White officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.
There will be no formal visitation or viewing at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Irving's memory to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, Va. 22911, or your local SPCA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville.

I just heard that Irving had passed away. I worked with Irving @ McKee Foods Corporation & he was always so nice. He really enjoyed working @ McKee's. Sending my condolences & prayers.

Irving Hughes (Cuz): Although we grew up apart, you in Atlantic City; I , in Virginia, I´m glad we got to know one another as cousins, and got to spend some quality time, and to have had in-depth conversations with loads of laughter. The loss is heart felt, and the journey was tough, but you´ve graduated to the inevitable tranquility -Rest well.
