Irwin N. Cooper III departed this life on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the age of 67. Devoted son of Carol B. Cooper and the late Irwin N. Cooper, Jr. Brother of the late Brian D. Cooper and Godfather of Hailey Boudreaux and the late Fawn M. Cooper. Irwin graduated from Belle Chasse High School in 1975 and attended the University of New Orleans for 2 years. He was employed with the Plaquemines Parish Government as a mechanic for several years and was also a commercial shrimper. He was the owner of Plaquemines Seafood, The Camp Sports Bar and part owner of the Clubhouse Sports Bar and Lounge. He also constructed several houses in the local area. He was currently the Manager of Zydeco’s Seafood Restaurant in Belle Chasse. Irwin was a member of the Fallin’ Feather Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter and loved nothing more than being at his hunting camp with his dog Sadie. He also enjoyed fishing. He was outgoing and was always making new friends. He loved telling stories about hunting and fishing. Irwin will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was the nephew of Warren and Jacqueline “Jackie” Wilbratte, Cynthia “Cindy” Norris, Medwick “Rock” and Judy Robichaux and the late Howard Brower, Jr and Robert “Bobby” Brower. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse, LA. Visitation will be held at the church from 9am until 11am. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Special thanks to Tonya and JP Solis, AJ Begovich, Pamela DePriest, Chad Braud and Clarence “Boo” Breland for all the loving care given to Irwin during his illness.
