Isaac Henry "Ike" Darling

Ike passed peacefully at home. His ultimate goal was to celebrate his 100th birthday which he did with 100+ guests attending just last month.

Ike was born in Kennewick, WA to Guy and Agnes Darling. He was the second of 12 siblings of which only one remains. He came to Sonoma County permanently in 1942.

Ike answered to many names: Son, Brother, Husband, Hoot, Navy Veteran WWII, Dad, Pop, Uncle, Sheep Shearer, Truck Driver, Mr. Fixit, Grandpa, Opa, Great Grandpa and 1st Assistant Fire Chief Volunteer at Roseland Fire Dept. for 30 years.

He was pre-deceased by his teen sweetheart, Jimmie Darling and Ingrid Darling. Survived by daughter Yvonne Darling-Atkins (Jack), son Steven (Laurie), granddaughters Dawn Darling-Gehring (Rollin), Jennifer Williams (Jake), Kathleen Gorton (Jared), great granddaughters, Mariah & Rachel Gehring, Ava & Abby Williams.

He was a man of integrity, values, morals & faith. He loved life, camping, road trips, hunting, fishing, family gatherings and playing jokes on unsuspecting victims. He truly was among the best of the Greatest Generation.

You are invited to a viewing on Monday, March 2nd, 12-4 at Daniels Chapel of the Roses and a memorial service at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 905 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa at 11am on Tuesday, March 3rd. Burial at Shiloh District Cemetery to follow.
