Isaac J. Stoltzfus Isaac J. Stoltzfus, age age 76, of Sarasota, Fla., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at his daughter's home in Lynchburg, Va., following a courageous two-month battle with cancer.

Born in Dover, Del. on September 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Jonas J. and Rachel (Beiler) Stoltzfus. He leaves behind Mattie (Yoder) Stoltzfus, his wife of 56 years. They resided in Sarasota, Fla. since 2003, and were previously of Midland, Va.; Farmville, Va.; Blackville, S.C.; and Oakland, Md.

Isaac lived a life of deep personal faith, and was most recently a member of the Tourist Mennonite Church, Sarasota, Fla. where he served as usher.

For 18 years he was employed as a truck driver at the Martin-Brower Company in Manassas, Va., where he received regular awards and honors for his diligent work. Isaac was known for his friendly ways and enjoyed meeting people. He had a trade-mark sense of humor. His deep-seated convictions left a godly example for the family he faithfully raised. Isaac enjoyed being an uncle to his many nephews and nieces. He liked singing and expressed his faith through the music he enjoyed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 11 children and their spouses: Rhoda and Norman Yutzy of Hutchinson, Kan.; Ruth and David Mast of Midland, Va.; Ellen and Nelson Troyer of Farmville, Va.; Omar and Charlene Stoltzfus of Farmville, Va.; Chester and Christina Stoltzfus of Culpeper, Va.; Dora Stoltzfus of Sarasota, Fla.; Mervin and Dawn Stoltzfus of Catlett, Va.; Timothy and Linda Stoltzfus of Watson-town, Pa.; Rachel and Quincy Hochstetler of Aiken, S.C.; Joseph Stoltzfus of Midland, Va.; and Naomi and Joseph Hostetler of Lynchburg, Va. Also surviving are 34 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation and funeral services will be at the Dayspring Mennonite Church, 5522 Catlett Road, Midland, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 30 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Officiating will be pastors Robert Yoder, Joni Shetler, Simon Schrock, and David Graber.

Isaac had a heart for global missions, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Global Tribes Outreach, Bibles for China, PO Box 130, Washingtonville, PA 17884. The family is being assisted by Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, Va.

I didnt know Mr. Stoltzfus, but I knew his son Mr. Omar Stoltzfus when he taught school in Rappahannock county va...He was one of my 7th grade teachers...I send to you and your family my condolences.
