DeVargas Funeral Home of TaosIsabel Lena “Sue” Reynolds, age 62, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply. Born to Ruby Archuleta and Walter Reynolds, Sue was raised in Taos, New Mexico. As a young woman, she excelled in track and field and proudly graduated from Taos High School. She later served honorably in the United States Army, carrying forward the strength and determination that defined her spirit.
Sue is preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Archuleta; her father, Walter Reynolds; her half bother Dave Reynolds and her beloved son, Brandon Whitaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Randi Whitaker; her son, Abran Martinez; and her grandson, Zuko. She is also survived by her brothers Walter Reynolds (Tammy) and Stephan Reynolds (Melissa); and her half-brothers - Trevor Reynolds and John Reynolds.
Sue leaves behind many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart: Brother Walters children; Dwayne Reynolds, Dmitri Reynolds, Walter III, and Sassy Reynolds— and Brother Stephans step-children; Ben Vigil Jr., Ashlynn Vigil, James Vigil, and Aleah Vigil. She is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Although Sue faced many challenges in the later part of her life, her struggles do not define who she was. She was a loving sister with a gentle heart, a kind spirit, and a quiet warmth that her family will always remember. She cherished her family in her own way and is remembered for her kindness, her soft smile, and the moments of connection she shared with those she loved.
Graveside service will be held on Monday December 8, 2025 at 2:30pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Sue’s passing leaves a deep ache in the hearts of her family, but her memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love she leaves behind. May she rest in peace.
