Isaiah Ngome Katana, 15, of Liberty Boro, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 20, 2009 in Pittsburgh and was the son of Jennifer M. Ingram (Yusef Rollins) Katana and Garama (Wendy) Katana. Isaiah was a current 10th grade student at South Allegheny High School. He loved going to school everyday, and loved to be with his friends, teachers and aides; especially his "Sweetie" and favorite lunch lady, Lori; his bus driver Miss Ashley; teachers, Ms. Skorvan, Ms. Vasko, Ms. Mitchell and Ms. Stockett, Ms. Pikula, Ms. Papp, and Ms. Hart. Isaiah had a great sense of humor, joked around and loved to laugh. He loved going to Amusement Parks and riding roller coasters with his hands up and non-stop laughter. He enjoyed going to Kennywood, where his favorite ride was the Jack Rabbit, Sandcastle, Idewild, Busch Gardens, Disney Land, Disney World, and Dollywood to name a few. He was an avid swimmer and would swim anywhere he could, whether it be the family pool, Sandcastle, Idewild or any body of water he could jump in. He loved listening to music, playing games and YouTube on his phone or computer and counting down the days until the next holiday. He had a special love for Daniel Tiger, Wheel of Fortune and Disney. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Nikki Lee, Ella Mae Ingram, and Preston Lee Ingram; grandparents, Joseph and Sheryl Ingram; uncle, Joseph M. Ingram; cousins, Alexis Lynch, Ashleigh Ingram, Jesse Joseph Ingram, Bentley Waggoner and Ryan Lynch; as well as numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Jesse Lee Ingram and grandparents, Jesse and Barbara LaFollette and Bandiki Ngome Katana and Naomi Deche Kai.
Friends an family are welcome on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director. Funeral service will begin at 7:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Steve Wilson, officiating.
