It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Ismael Douglas Lazo, who departed this life on October 17, 2025, in Clinton, Maryland, at the age of 81.
Born on June 8, 1944, in Washington, D.C., Ismael was the cherished son of the late Ismeal P. Lazo and Elizabeth Peregoy Lazo. Throughout his life, he carried with him the values of dedication, service, and love for his family and country.
Ismael proudly served in the Air National Guard, Army, and United States Air Force, where he exemplified courage, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to duty. His military career was marked by numerous achievement awards, a testament to his excellence and devotion over the years. After retiring from the military, he continued to be a source of strength and wisdom to all who knew him.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Dorothea P. Lazo, and a loving father to his daughters: Stacy (Scott) Linderman, Kim (Gary) Lazo, and Christina (Mike) Lazo. Ismael found great joy in being a grandfather and took immense pride in his grandchildren: Timothy and Laura, Samantha, Alizae, and Myah, and Alia, Demetrius, and Jasmyn.
He is also survived by his siblings: Florentina, Patricia, George, and Maria, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and unconditional support.
Ismael's life was defined by his unwavering love for family, his honor in service, and his quiet strength. Whether in uniform or in the warmth of his home, he lived with a sense of purpose and humility that inspired everyone around him.
