Leonard Lazo was a loving husband to his wife, Veronica, a devoted father to their children Leticia and Jason. He passed on to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on the 27th of September, 2025.
Leonard is survived by his daughter Leticia (Tish) Lazo, son Jason Lazo and wife Laura, grandchildren Jasmine Lazo, Jeremy Lazo, and Vanessa Baeza Lazo.
"He instilled strong values in his children and grandchildren, which they carry with them today.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October the 22nd at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk, TX at 11 a.m. Services are under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
Dad was born and raised in Houston and attended San Jacinto High School. He enjoyed being with his wife of 52 years, Veronica, running errands, site seeing, trying new restaurants, attending church, going to the movie theater, meeting with family & friends for breakfast. At home he enjoyed yard work, feeding the chickens, drinking coffee and eating sweets, reading the newspaper, looking through history books, listening to radio talk shows and watching the ABC world news at 5:30 pm. He thoroughly enjoyed talking on the phone with his friends and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He adored his dogs, who he considered an extension of his family.
Leonard was a proud union member at Southern Pacific Railroad, Machinist, Truck Owner Operator, and a Lab Technician & Proud Union Member at Goodyear Houston Chemical Plant.
He was a devoted member of Christian Tabernacle for over 25 years where he served faithfully in various outreach ministries for the sick and homeless. He also performed Missions work - In Mexico and India.
His life was a testament to the scripture, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32. His faith guided every aspect of his life, providing him with strength, wisdom, and a deep sense of assurance.
Leonard was known for his kindness, integrity, and generous spirit, always putting his family first.
His legacy of love and devotion will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
