Ivan “Tad” Richard Bostron, passed away at the age of 62 in Cheyenne, Wyoming on December 30, 2025 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Tad was born in Cheyenne on March 6, 1963 to Gerald “Jerry” Bostron and Imogene Hammond Bostron. Tad graduated from East High school and following graduation lead a life as a hunting guide, taxidermist, butcher, carpenter, and construction worker. He had an adventurous soul and lived life to the fullest. He settled down with his wife, Linda, and ran away to be married on January 9, 1993. Tad was blessed to enjoy all things outdoors: hunting, fishing, trap shooting, fourwheeling, cowboying, woodworking and telling stories in his wall tent on a mountain. During his down time he was an avid reloader, card shark, and knife sharpener. He became a Cheyenne Frontier Days Volunteer in 1992 earning his status as a Heel in 2009. Anyone that didn’t cross him will always tell you that he was just a big teddy bear. Most of all, Tad enjoyed his four and a half years as a grandpa and will forever be remembered as “Papa”. His grandson Boe said it best when asked about his Papa, “I’ll miss that he was never too busy for me.” Tad was never too busy for anyone. He is survived by wife Linda Bostron, sister Tammy (Jay) Rosenlund, his two sons: Cole (Cassy) Bostron, Chance Mistarka, grandkids Boe and Ellie Bostron, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Buckle Club on January 23rd at 5:30 p.m. As a family we would like to give a special thank you to all of the nurses and support staff at the CRMC Cancer Center. Papa, Grandma, Boe, and Ellie were always more than taken care of during their weekly visits. In lieu of presents or flowers please take a puzzle or make a donation to the Cancer Center. Until we meet again…Love you Papa.
