Ivan Briggs, 98, of
Titusville, FL, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Born in Olympia, Washington, Ivan lived a remarkable life filled with service, adventure, and unwavering faith. A proud United States Navy veteran, he served his country with honor during World War II. He was also an Eagle Scout during his high school years before graduating from Columbia University with a degree in Business. Ivan worked as a systems analyst during a long career with General Electric and after retiring, fulfilled a dream of being a tour bus driver at the Kennedy Space Center. Beyond his professional achievements, Ivan was deeply committed to serving his community. He was an active member of the Titusville Kiwanis Club, volunteered with the Salvation Army and Parrish Medical Center, and was a proud member of The Gideons International. Ivan's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mims and served as both a deacon and elder in several churches over the years, always leading with compassion and humility. Ivan's love for life and adventure never faded. To celebrate his 90th birthday he went skydiving, and at 95 he became a greeter at Chick-fil-A, spreading kindness with every smile. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Carol Briggs. Ivan is survived by his loving wife, Merna; his children David Briggs (Debbie), Kathy Browning, Raymond Briggs (Cheri), and Donald Briggs (Donna); 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Cynthia Gilman (Russ), Timothy James, and Laura Vasquez-Wolfe (Scott); six step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Lillian Clark. Ivan's life was a testament to faith, family, and service. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched through his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to First Baptist Church of Mims.
