Vivian V. Mausler

Vivian V. Mausler, 103, of Poughkeepsie, formerly a 20+ year resident of Pleasant Valley, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at The Holiday Manor at Woodside in Poughkeepsie.
Born on January 22, 1922, in Mahopac Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Stephen Henry and Carrie E. (Rundle) Vreeland.
Vivian enjoyed spending time with her friends, she was extremely grateful to them for being so helpful over the years. When not spending time with her friends locally, or attending a live concert, she could be found traveling out of the country to her favorite places such as Scotland and Germany. Vivian also cared very much for the preservation of our natural resources.
She taught nursing at Columbia University for many years before her retirement. She graduated with her Master's degree in New York and went on to earn her Doctorate in Education from the Columbia Teacher's University.
Vivian was an active woman with a special dedication to her line of work. She loved learning, frequently attending educational classes. During her career, she taught nursing at Columbia University, among other institutions. She did homecare in Putnam County, and private duty nursing at Presbyterian Hospital in NYC. To add to her vibrant career, she also worked with government agencies studying ambulatory care and served on different Health Boards throughout her career.
On Saturday, November 19, 1994 she married Robert Mausler. They spent 10 years together before he predeceased her in June of 2005.
Vivian is survived by her two nieces; Jane (Don) Cease of Allentown, PA, and Carol Vreeland of Raleigh, NC; her cousin, William (Alexandra) Rundle of Peekskill; and two step-sons, Craig Mausler of Schenectady and Chris Mausler of San Jose, CA.
In addition to her husband, Vivian was predeceased by her brother, Henry Vreeland.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
A memorial service is scheduled on December 16, at 1:00pm at the Netherwood Baptist Church, 1211 Netherwood Rd, Salt Point, NY.
