Iverna Lee Schmidt, age 94, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born in Morning View, Kentucky, Iverna was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Josephine Lipscomb. She was married to her devoted husband of 77 years, Edward Schmidt, with whom she shared a lifetime of love , faith, and adventure.

Iverna dedicated 20 years of her career as a Tax Examiner for the Federal Government and later worked 14 years for Hertz Car Rental. She was a hardworking, kind, and caring woman who always put her family and faith first. Iverna loved attending church, cooking delicious meals, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her family. She had a special fondness for hummingbirds and found joy in their beauty and grace.

An active member of the Boone County Senior Center, Iverna cherished the friendships she made there and the many activities she enjoyed with her community.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Josephine Lipscomb; her brother, Joseph Lipscomb; and her great-granddaughter, Lexi Schmidt.

Iverna is survived by her loving husband, Edward Schmidt of Burlington, KY; her sons, Douglas Schmidt (Becky) of Independence, KY, and David Schmidt (Darlene) of Dry Ridge, KY; her daughters, Donna Grubbs (Jim) of Walton, KY, and Diane Sper (Mike) of Erlanger, KY; her brother, James Lipscomb (Jean) of Ankeny, IA; her ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and her beloved dog, Mandy.

Iverna will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, faith, and devotion to her family. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Services will be held at Florence Baptist temple Friday October 31 st 2025 with a visitation from 10AM-12PM a service to follow at 12PM proceeded with a burial to Floral Hills Cemetery

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Florence Baptist Temple building fund
