J. Raphael Altidor

October 24, 1944 – February 19, 2026

When the Lord calls our loved ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in their place. Our beloved Jean Raphael Altidor was born on October 24, 1944, in Leogane, Haiti. He was the fourth child of Idercile Brutus and Medone Altidor. Raphael was affectionately called Ti Dor by his siblings, King by family, and Pastor Altidor by the church. He attended school in Haiti, where he played guitar, sang, taught music, and volunteered his talent in church. Fluent in English, he worked at hotels such as Royal Haitian and Montana. In Port-au-Prince, neighbors called him "Pastor," inspiring his son's name, "Ti Past." In 1981, Raphael moved to the United States in search of better opportunities, working at the Port Authority until his retirement. He dedicated himself tirelessly to providing for his family. He loved the Lord and was an active member of the La Foi Apostolique church in Haiti. Mr. Raphael became a deacon in 1983, an evangelist in 1995 at the Sanctified Church of God in Brooklyn, and was ordained as a pastor in 2008. In 2009, he established La Foi Apostolique in Philadelphia. He enjoyed hosting gatherings, assisting families, and supporting them with relocation, employment, and food services. Despite encountering obstacles, he served as a man of God and a pillar of the community, demonstrating respect to all, including children.

In 1965, he met his wife, Rosamene Latouche. They married in 1971 and were blessed with five children: Marcelin (Lloyd), Nancy (deceased), Kenson, Jonas (deceased), and Kenny Altidor. On December 13th, 2022, a part of Pastor Altidor was lost when the Lord called his wife to heaven.

He is survived by his children, Lloyd, Kenson, and Kenny Altidor; niece and goddaughter, Mathilde Crepin; daughters-in-law; grandchildren, Lloyd Raphael, Getsemane, Ben, Milken, Kayla, Kendia, Kristine, and Kristina Altidor; siblings, Voltaire, Joseph Clermontus, Silvanord, and Clomaise Altidor; nephews and nieces, notably Caleb Altidor; sisters-in-law; and other family members and friends.

Acknowledgment:

The family expresses their gratitude to everyone for prayers, visits, messages, flowers, cards, and kindness shown during their period of bereavement. Special thanks are extended to friends and relatives, particularly those who traveled from out of town. May the Lord's blessings be upon you all.

Thanks to Sister Rita for managing Pastor Altidor's medical appointments and to the caregivers, especially Ms. Micheline and the CNA, for their dedication until his final day at the nursing home.

Your kindness is unforgettable. Thank you!

(Colossians 3:23-24).
