Rosemary Bartlett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John F Givnish Funeral Home - Academy Rd on Mar. 19, 2026.
Rosemary Bartlett (nee O'Malley) passed peacefully from this life on March 16, 2026 at 89 years old. Beloved wife of the late Warren Bartlett. Preceded in death by her treasured parents Patrick & Helen O'Malley. Loving mother of Patricia Bartlett (Michael Barry), Warren Bartlett, Jr, Karen Dadalski (Richard), Mark Bartlett (Colleen) & Daniel Bartlett (Gwen). The very best grandmother to Eric Dadalski (Angelina), Shannon Barry Bailey (Paul Lofton), Ryan Dadalski, Robert Bartlett (Christine), Shaun Barry, Kerri Dadalski Joseph (Marc), Nicholas Bartlett, Erin Bartlett, Patrick Bartlett & Christopher Bartlett. Dear great-grandmother to Riley Bailey, Logan Lofton & Remi Dadalski.

Rose's life was dedicated to her family. Family was everything to Rose & Warren, who were happily married for over 60 years. As a stay-at-home mom she raised five children & helped raise ten grandchildren. Rose was a very involved grandmother, very hands on, always available to assist her children with whatever they needed. This included literally babysitting daily for her grandchildren, who were certainly the greatest joy of her life. She & Warren also never missed her kids' & grandkids' countless ballgames, shows & parades. As an only child, Rose was very close to her parents and took excellent care of them in their old age.

A lifelong Philadelphian, Rose loved the City of Philadelphia. Rose made sure each of her five children received a strong Catholic education. She herself graduated from Corpus Christi Catholic Elementary School in 1950 & John W Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in 1954 in Philadelphia.

When her children were involved in sports, she volunteered for Calvary AA Baseball & Archbishop Ryan Diamond Club. For years she was an active member of Our Lady of Calvary Seniors. She loved the holidays & made every holiday special for her children & grandchildren. She encouraged (with a pretty decent success rate) her kids & grandkids to join what was to become "the family business" The Philadelphia Police Department. Rose raised hard working children who know the value of education & showing up every day & putting in a good day's work. These values have also been passed on to her grandchildren.

Rose had a special and unique warmth about her. She made you feel like you were her favorite person in the world when she talked to you. She always remembered what was going on in your life & asked about your family. Rose was known for her kindness & generosity. She was a great friend & a cherished family member.

Relatives and friends are invited to Rose's Viewing on Wednesday, March 25th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Road, Philadelphia, PA. Funeral Mass will follow Viewing at 10:30 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
