J. B. Clark was born in Terrell County, Georgia on February 27, 1932. He was the beloved son of the late Ida Mae Bronner.
He received his formal education in the Terrell County School System.
Born into a loving family, J. B. was raised with strong values and incomparable work ethics. He was a highly skilled Master Brick Mason and owner/operator of Clark and Sons Enterprise; a business venture that began in
Albany, Georgia and allowed him to have a fulfilling career. In later years, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he was involved in many building projects that were instrumental in the upbuilding of the city. Brick by brick, J. B. laid the foundation to becoming one of the best brick masons of all times.
He thought outside of the box and worked untiringly to ensure that his work was flawless. He was much sought after in the construction industry, and used his gift and expertise not only in Atlanta, but around the state of Georgia as well. He was proud to be a brick mason-never faltering in his responsibilities and always demanding perfection. Much of his work still stands today.
Having enjoyed an astounding career over the years, J. B. returned to Albany to begin the "retirement" chapter of his life. He united with Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Carl White, Jr., and continued prayerfully in Christian stewardship.
J. B. was joined in holy matrimony to Estella Evans. With their union, four children were born-Donnie, Shirley, Beverlyn, and Kathy. He was also blessed with a bonus daughter, Carolyne. Together, they were steadfast in fostering a home filled with love, joy, and sound values. In later years, J. B. married Dorothy Thomas and they were blessed with a son, Jonathan Barnard. As life journey for J. B. he was bless to father his baby daughter Chana. Family was paramount in his life and he showered them with unconditional love and support.
A very kind man with a gigantic heart, J. B. was loved and admired by all who had the privilege of knowing him. When in his presence, there was never a dull moment and he created a very jubilant atmosphere wherever he went. He had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life and a special way of becoming an important part of their lives. His memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of his family and friends.
On January 23, 2024, J. B. transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two children, Donnie Clark and Kathy Peaks.
He is survived by his loving children, Shirley Croom of
Macon, GA, Beverlyn Clark Thomas of
Albany, GA, Jonathan Barnard Clark of
Goodyear, Arizona, Shana Clark-Tucker of Atlanta, GA, and Carolyne Evans Edwards of
Albany, GA; sons-in-law, Alphonso Edwards of
Albany, GA and Herman Thomas of
Albany, GA; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and four great-great
grandchildren; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
