Johnnie Earl (J.E.) Graddy, Jr. passed from this worldly domain April 16,2025 while at the Piggott Community Hospital at the age of 92. He was born in the Calls Chapel Area in Clay County, Arkansas on April 14, 1933.
He married Una Donner on October 4, 1952. They were married for 72 years and to this union they added a son, Stanley Lynn and a daughter, Merita Carole. He spent two years in the Army before coming back to the Piggott area to work at Graddy Brothers thus starting his construction career. He worked his way up the ladder to superintendent including dirt work, building highways and airports in Arkansas and Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Troy, Jearold, Hulon, Jimmie, and Bobby Joe; sisters, Geneva Gray, Imogen Gray, Juanita Williams, and Earlene Williams; son, Stanley Graddy and wife Jan; and son-in-law, Jimmy Hanna.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Una Graddy; daughter, Merita Hanna; one brother, Alion Graddy and wife Katherine of Fredicktown Missouri; grandson, Matthew Dewitt; great-grandsons, Nathaniel and Religh; a host of friends, nephews, and nieces.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Bro. Mike Book and Bro. Jerrod Lowe officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 20, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Terry Pollard, Mike Morgan, Brent Wellman, and Todd Watson. Honorary pallbearers will include all his nephews. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home will be in charge of service arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, or a charity of your choice.
