Memorial services for J. Harper Gaushell, 41, of Lafayette LA will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. Dr. Rick Byargeon and Rev. Dale Oden will officiate under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 12 Noon till time of service at the church. Harper passed away due to a car accident on January 1, 2011. Harper is survived by his father and mother Charles and Anne Gaushell of Ruston; sister, Lisa Gaushell Grafton and husband Dee of Haughton, LA; brother, Charles Taylor Gaushell and wife Mary Katherine of Memphis, TN; three nieces, two nephews, and a host of special friends and loved ones. Harper graduated from Ruston High School and went to Louisiana Tech for two years. He was a lighting and sound tech and his love was computers. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Kitty Gaushell of Ruston, LA and maternal grandparents, Floyd and Helen Taylor of Ruston, LA. Harper had such a wonderful heart. He loved everyone and never met a stranger. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
