J. Sprinkle Obituary
J. Elaine Sprinkle, 89, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Wayne County Care Center after a period of declining health.
Elaine was born on June 19, 1934 in Wayne County to Tom and Eula (Brinkerhoff) Peacock and attended Burbank High School. On April 12, 1952 she married Floyd A. Sprinkle and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2004. Elaine operated her own Wedding and Specialty Cake and Catering business and had worked at the Pine Tree Barn and Abigail's Tea Room in Wooster. She was a member of Oak Chapel United Methodist Church where she was known as the "Cookie Lady" and she enjoyed over the years collecting cookbooks and antique tea sets and sewing and piecing quilts. She and Floyd enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada and traveling to Pymatuning State Park and to Florida in their motor home.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Phyllis and David Weaver and Bill and Becky Sprinkle of Wooster; five granddaughters, Julie Stillwagner, Joanne Keplar, Hallie Morris, Chris Minks and Billie Dawn Neff; 11 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Sandra Hower of Wooster; sisters-in-law, Charlene Peacock and Dianne Peacock; many nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt Laney and special friends, Marge Dazey, Sandra Nickols and Carolyn Leedy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her parents; brothers, Tom and Bruce Peacock; brother-in-law, John Hower and sister-in-law, Neva Stine.
Services will be Wednesday, June 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Chapel United Methodist Church, 4203 W. Old Lincoln Way, Wooster, OH with Pastor John Finn officiating. A family burial service will be held at Burbank Cemetery. Friends will be received following the service in the fellowship hall of the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Oak Chapel United Methodist Church Food Pantry, the Wayne County Care Center Auxiliary or to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare. The family extends a special thanks to the staff of the Wayne County Care Center and to LifeCare Hospice for the wonderful care given to Elaine.
