Jac Jones Obituary

Jac Robert Jones
March 6, 1955 – June 8, 2025
Jac Robert Jones, 70, of Dunedin, FL, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on March 6, 1955, in Rensselaer, IN, Jac attended Kankakee Valley High School and graduated from the Great Lakes Naval Academy. Though his time in the Navy was cut short, Jac carried the values of dedication and resilience with him throughout his life. He later channeled that same spirit into building and running his successful business, American Bladerunner Lawncare Services, which he owned and operated for over 20 years.
Jac was a man who found joy in the simple things-his favorite TV shows, a cold Monster energy drink, a handful of M&Ms, and the loyal companionship of his dog, Duke. He was a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a beloved brother and uncle.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Jones; son Matthew Jones; daughter Jessica Jones-Gonzalez (Bryan); and his best little buddy, grandson Jac Jones, who always knew how to make him laugh with the phrase, "Get in the garage, Cheesehead."
He is also survived by his loving sister Suellen Banks, who always took care of him, and his brother Scott Jones, as well as the ones who he loved quietly in his heart. His nieces and nephews-Nicki, Stephanie, Cody, Katie, Anthony and Andrea-will remember him fondly and with a smile.
Jac was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Robert Jones.
He loved playing golf, Sunday family dinners, and the comfort of being surrounded by those who mattered most, his wife, children and grandson. He didn't need much to be happy-just his people, a remote, and Duke by his side.
Jac's humor, kindness, and quiet strength will be missed more than words can say.
A small gathering will take place 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, 750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor, FL 34683 with the funeral service and interment to follow at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Clearwater.
