Jack Edward Bobst, 91, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was born in Beaver, Ohio, a son of the late Ezra Damon Bobst and Gladys Marie Schrader Bobst.

Jack attended Beaver Public Schools and graduated from Beaver High School where he faithfully attended many yearly alumni dinners in years past.

Jack then attended and graduated from Ohio State University where he was involved in the ROTC program. The ROTC program started a love of a military career that spanned over much of his life where he was regular army for a few years, and then the majority of his military life was spent in the Army Reserve where he reached the rank of Colonel and the rank he retired at.

Jack was a sales representative for most of his adult life having worked at Volvo in Germany, Belknap Hardware in Louisville, Kentucky, and Gates Rubber Company in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Jack moved his family to Jackson, Mississippi in 1964 where he worked at Klingler Electric for a short time and Motion Industries before settling at Reliance Electric where he spent most of his working life.

Jack was blessed to have three wonderful women in his life: Christa Erika Bobst and Karen Swetka Bobst who preceded him in death, and Janice McGuire who lives in Arizona.

Surviving are his children, Tawnya, Mark and Linda, and Clark Bobst, Greg and Ken Swetka, and Helen Dennys; grandchildren: Joshua Bobst, Dustin Bobst (Christina) Matthew Bobst, Katie Bobst Jordan (Brandon) and Nikolas; great grandchildren: Makaylah, Jamie, and Anna; two brothers, Jerry Bobst, Dean Bobst; and one sister, Patsy McGuire.

In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ezra "Bub" Bobst and Robert Bobst, five sisters, Vonberta Smith, Barb Predragovich, Betty Remy, and Janis Hines, and Karen "Sue" Cochenour.
