Jack Allen Boon, age 65, of Kalispell, passed away suddenly from a pulmonary embolism on December 10, 2025, at the family home.
Jack was born on January 26, 1960, in Kalispell, Montana. He graduated from Flathead High School in 1978. After high school, he attended Anaconda Job Corps, where he studied auto mechanics, machining, and welding.
Upon returning to the Flathead Valley, Jack worked various jobs, eventually finding a long-term home at the Sliter Farm and later at Sliters Lumber and Building Supply, where he worked for 17 years. In 1996, Jack attended Montana State University–Northern in Havre, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Diesel Technology in 2001.
In 2003, Jack opened Jack’s Diesel Service, Inc. in Kalispell, a business he proudly operated for more than 20 years until his retirement this past spring. He had a true gift for diagnosing and repairing diesel pickup trucks and took great pride in his work. Many of his customers became trusted friends over the years, a testament to his skill, integrity, and genuine nature.
Jack was an avid hunter and always looked forward to hunting season—any season. This fall was no exception, as he spent much of it enjoying the outdoors with his brother Rich. Whether mountain biking, fishing, hiking, or hunting, Jack cherished being outside and appreciating nature and the experiences it offered.
Jack is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dee Kirk-Boon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin “Sonny” Boon and Joyce (Farrell) Boon. He is also survived by his brothers, Tom (Debbie) Boon, Dan (Jan) Boon, Rich Boon, Fred (Janeen) Boon; his sisters, Sonja (Doug) Waddell, Tina (Larry) Brewer and Beth (Brent) Rowley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Church of Creston, LCMS, located at 5447 MT Highway 35, Kalispell. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Creston Fire Department.
