Jack Z. DeLorean

Jack Z. DeLorean of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, passed away on October 27, 2023, age 87. He was the son of Zachary and Kathryn DeLorean, and was the youngest of his three brothers, George, Charles, and John.
Jack was cherished and adored by his wife of 52 years, Karen L. Wagner, and sons Christopher, Paul, Michael, and daughter Elizabeth. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Katerina Zara.
Born in Detroit Michigan on March 23, 1936, Jack enlisting into the Army at 18 years old, and served near the end of the Korean War. He returned to earn a degree in marketing, as Magna Cum Laude, at the University of Southern California, where he was awarded a full scholarship for basketball. Sports were a passion of Jack's and he enthusiastically coached his four children in all of their athletic pursuits.
In the early 1960s, Jack worked in Product Planning for Ford Motor Company, where he made significant contributions to the original Mustang. In the early seventies, Jack conceived a 2/3 scale Grand Prix race track, an ahead-of-its-time concept, which drew huge crowds of enthusiasts and spectators.
Always charismatic, Jack possessed a unique talent for sales, and built a successful career in commercial real estate, before moving on to what he felt was his true-calling as in inventor. Jack has earned more than a dozen patents ranging from a race track timing system to highly advanced digital advertising displays.
A devoted Christian, Jack supported Gideons International, a number or charities and other organizations dedicated to spreading the Word of God, and he eagerly sought any opportunity to share the gospel. Jack's love and dedication to God, and to his family, were unconstrained.
