Jack Eady of Crystal Springs, MS passed away on August 30, 2024 at the age of 97. He grew up during the depression years helping on his family's farm. He served in World War II in the Pacific Theater.
He loved history and received a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Millsaps College. He taught several years in Jackson Public Schools before returning to school to earn a Master's of Education Administration degree from the University of Mississippi. He returned to Jackson Public Schools and served as principal of Enochs and Hardy Junior High Schools before his retirement.
He was always interested in current events and a day without a newspaper was a bad day.
He had a passion for traveling off the beaten path and saw many sites between Mississippi and California, where he owned property in the city of Calpine.
Church and Sunday School were very important to him and over the course of his life he attended Methodist churches in three different cities where he resided. He was instrumental in establishing a United Methodist Men's Club in Portola, California.
Preceding him in death were eleven siblings and his parents Morris and Onie (Jones) Eady. He is survived by his three sons, Jack Denton (Carolyn), Marshall Brian (Suzanne) and Alan Keith (Wanda), Jean Harper Eady, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
