Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Chicago, James graduated from Senn High School. James worked as a building maintenance engineer in Chicago's high-rises for his entire career. He was always fixing something!
Beloved father of James Jr, preceded in death by his children Ruby Faye Eady and Richard Sprouse Christian (Doris). Proud grandfather of Chiara Christian, Kenneth Crook Jr., and the late Richard "Newton" Alamazon. Great-grandfather of Anthony Jarta and Ayelet Zenati. Brother of Rosetta Jolden Allen, Jerry Robert Thompson, and the late Ruby Luise Eady and Clarence Eady. Uncle of Joseph and Mary Miller.
Graveside service 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2025 at Irving Park Cemetery 7777 Irving Park Road, Chicago.
