John Anderson Obituary

John E. Anderson, 78, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away on December 24, 2025. He was born on October 1, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents, Alfred and Iva (Boldt) Anderson. John attended Nicholas Senn High School and then went on to Hiram Scott College in Nebraska.

Following graduation, John began a long and dedicated career with the Chicago Tribune from 1977 to 1996. Subsequently, he worked as operations director at the Indianapolis Star before retiring in 2012.

John’s love for fly fishing and woodworking was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on them that will never fade. In retirement, John loved to travel to Colorado and Florida with his wife, Cindy, making memories that will be forever cherished.

John is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Anderson; children Justin Anderson (Jessica) and Katie Haj Asaad (Laith); stepsons Chris (Taylor) Seufert and Michael (Lauren) Seufert; grandchildren DJ Anderson, Ruthie Anderson, Via Anderson, Kynlee Seufert and Vivia Seufert; and sisters Beverlee Pullano and Kay (Bob) Anderson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Iva Anderson, and brother-in-law Russell Pullano.

John’s lessons he taught us and the love he gave will continue to shape our lives forever. While he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life for John will take place at a future date.
