BURLESON - On Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, Jack Lee Earwood passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home at the age of 79.
Mr. Earwood was born July 7, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated as Salutatorian with the Class of 1962 from Technical High School. Mr. Earwood received a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. At the time of his death, he was a retired resident in Burleson and member of Cana Baptist Church where there is a ministry to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Throughout his diversified career working with the Deaf and DeafBlind, Jack served as a Public Servant in Rehabilitation and Social Services, Teacher and Trainer in Interpreting and Sign Language, and Christian Minister in Deaf Ministries. As a devoted family man, he lovingly lived the roles of Son, Brother, Uncle, Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord.
Jack Earwood was preceded in death by his father and mother, Floyd Wilson and Nellie Mae Earwood of Fort Worth, Texas; and sister-in-law, Patricia Claire Earwood of Burleson, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn Marie Earwood of Burleson, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jaclyn Marie and Christopher Seay of Burleson, Texas; granddaughter and grandson, Elizabeth Marie and Judah Robert Seay of Burleson, Texas; stepson and family, Darrin, Carla and Ashton Cain of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; and stepson, Jerome Cain of Portugal; stepson, Gerald Cain of Austin, Texas; sister, Dorothy Mae Earwood of Burleson, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd, Jr., and Sherry Earwood of Crowley, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Denise Earwood of Galveston, Texas; sister, Kathy Jo Earwood of Fort Worth, Texas; and many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service: 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, in Greenwood Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. DJ Pope, FBC Ashdown, Arkansas. The service will be interpreted in American Sign Language. Interment: Garden of Adoration, Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation with family and friends: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at Greenwood.
Gifts in memory of Jack Lee Earwood may be written or given online to Cana Baptist Church c/o the Jack Earwood Memorial Scholarship. The Jack Earwood Memorial Scholarship will directly aid participants to Deaf Bible Camp or other Deaf or DeafBlind ministry efforts of Cana.
