It is with a sense of great loss and respect that the family of Mr. Jack Hoyt Green announces his passing on the 24th of October, 2025, at the age of 95. Mr. Green was born in Alabama, on January 10, 1930, and lived a life marked by a steadfast commitment to his family and the land.

He leaves behind his wife, Peggy (Johnson) Green; his sons, Gary Green and Jay Green (Rhonda); his sister, Linda Brand; his grandchildren, Landi Lanier, Taylor Green, Brittany Shirley, and Hunter Green; and his great-grandchildren, Beckham Lanier and Carter Green, and host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Ludie Green; his brothers, Howard and John Green; his sisters, Bunnie Floyce Green, Hildreth Doty, Bobbie Hale, and Lonnie Faye Howd; and his daughter-in-law, Gayle Green.

Mr. Green attended the High Rock First Congregational Methodist Church, where he practiced his faith with quiet dignity and grace. His life was a living example of the virtues he held dear: hard work, integrity, and the importance of family. His love for farming was matched only by his enjoyment of hunting, fishing, and baseball-a sport in which he actively participated for 44 years. He took great pride in watching his grandkids play sports. Singing with his family brought him immense joy and was a testament to the close-knit bond they shared.

The visitation for Mr. Green will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland, AL. On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Mr. Green will lie in state at the High Rock First Congregational Methodist Church from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am. The service will pay homage to a life well-lived and a man deeply loved, as we commend him to his final rest.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Green, Taylor Green, Jacob Shirley, Beckham Lanier, Justin Green, Chance Fell, Steve Green, and Conrad Horton.
