Jack Grindstaff, age 83, of Arlin Laws Drive in Burnsville passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.
Born in Yancey County, he was the son of the late Lonus and Edna Huskins Grindstaff. Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Janet Harris Grindstaff who passed away in 2021. Also preceding him in death were his brothers; Danny, Harold, and Doug Grindstaff.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Judy Ballew Grindstaff, his son; Mark Grindstaff, his daughter, Sandra Grindstaff, his granddaughter; Alexis Holmes and husband, Caelan, his great grandchildren; Oaklee and Wylder Holmes, his sisters; Wanda McKinney and husband, Sherrill, Judy Thomas and husband, Danny and Jean Dobbins and husband, Ron, his sister-in-law; Gladys Grindstaff, his special nephews; Ricky McKinney and Travis Grindstaff, several nieces and nephews and a dear friend; Ray Huskins.
Jack was the owner of Blue Ridge Grading for over forty years. He loved buying and restoring old antique cars. Along with his first wife, he traveled with his dear friends; Ray and Norma Huskins, Donald and Lois Loftis, and Harold Dean and Annette Cook to many antique car shows.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at Fairview Baptist Church on Seven Mile Ridge in Burnsville. Graveside service and interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery on Seven Mile Ridge in Burnsville.
