Jack Howell Obituary
Jack Leonard Howell Sr., 87, passed away on February 27, 2026 surrounded by his loving family in Homewood, Alabama, he was born May 31, 1938, in Jackson, Alabama, and a longtime resident of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. He was a proud graduate of Jackson High School and the University of Alabama. Jack built a long and successful career beginning with Clarke-Washington EMC, Square D, and Schneider Electric, where he later retired.
Jack was a devoted husband to his wife, Barbara Chastain Howell, and a loving father to his sons, Jack Leonard 'Len' Howell Jr. and James 'Jim' (Sherry) Howell. He was a proud grandfather to Melissa Howell, Jaclyn Howell Fincher, Allison Howell, and James Howell, and a cherished great-grandfather to Crew and Camille Fincher.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the many lives he touched throughout his life.
For those who feel moved to honor Jack's memory, contributions may be made to Camp Smile-A-Mile (www.smileamile.com), Bethel Cemetery (forward donations to Lathan Funeral Home and we will deliver to the cemetery committee), the Clarke County Animal Shelter (251-275-1055), or your choice.
A service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
