Jack Hughey Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 7, 2024.
Jack L. Hughey June 1930 – March 2024
Jack, our cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother went to be with his Lord and Savior,
He was born in Coffeyville, KS to John and Edith Hughey. After high school graduation, he worked for General Motors before serving in the United States Air Force. Upon his return he graduated from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri. It was in Kansas City where he met the love of his life, Beverly Mack, and shared over 61 wonderful years together.
Jack worked for Prudential Mortgage, and was transferred to St. Louis, MO. He graduated from SMU School of Banking and became a Senior Vice President of St. Louis First National Bank. He moved to Houston as Senior Vice President of Houston National Bank. He then decided to go into business for himself working in commercial real estate and venture capital and belonged to numerous professional organizations.
Jack loved his family and attended his children's activities, served as PTA president, and volunteered his time on many committees. He loved his church, Chapelwood United Methodist, where he faithfully served as an usher for over twenty years, on numerous committees, and as a volunteer.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; his three children; Michele Parrott (Allen), Andria Francis (Brian), and Tyler Hughey; his grandchildren; Cameron and Haley Grace Francis and Travis and Lauren Parrott. He is survived by his sister, Jill Marchand, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Jack will be sorely missed, as he was the most positive person, and brought love, guidance, and Inspiration to all. We will cherish our memories and hold him in our hearts, until that glorious reunion when we are together in heaven.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family, with gratitude, would like to have anyone wishing to honor Jack's memory to donate to Chapelwood United Methodist Church Youth Ministry.

Jack, I miss you so much, but I know you are in Heaven and watching over us. We would have celebrated our 62nd anniversary, this Sunday. I will cherish the memories of our wonderful life together, as you were the best husband, father, and grandfather, in all the world. You will be in my heart, until that glorious day when we are together in Heaven.

My sweet dad - you are so deeply missed! I have so many fond memories of you, but my favorites are when it was just the two of us in the car as you were fist teaching me how to drive, and later as we took several road trips to and from Waco during college, and finally as we just ran errands around town. I loved and cherished our deep conversations, words of wisdom, and even sometimes unwanted advice! You were always so positive and had such a great outlook on life. I hope I can carry on your positivity and appreciate each day for the beautiful day it is. Thank you for your support, wisdom, guidance, and above all...love throughout the years.

I love you dearly.
Michele

Dad,
Oh how deeply you are missed. A girl couldn´t ask for a better Daddy! You were the rock of our family! Problem solver, advice giver, straight shooter and nurse often times when we were sick. You always worked so hard to provide us with a wonderful life. Your positive outlook was such a good example for all of us. You started each day with a smile and "it´s a beautiful day", words I will try to carry on each and every day in your memory. Thank you for your faith, wisdom and love that you so freely gave. I love you and miss you so very much.

I always looked forward to coming downstairs in the morning, and you would ask me how I was doing and say it was a beautiful day outside. I miss talking to you about what was going on and watching TV with you. You were always there for me when I needed help or to vent. I love you, Dad, and I miss you every day. Love, Ty
