Jack Paul Johnson ObituaryFence – Jack Johnson, 79, of Fence, Wisc., passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, Iron Mountain, Mich.
He was born on November 7, 1945, in Iron Mountain, Mich., to the late Rudy and Stella (Stabinski) Johnson.
He married Alice Wloszczynski on June 29, 1969, in Florence, Wisc.
Jack was a firefighter in Alaska. He worked for a number years with J. Verrette Builders in Iron Mountain. He was owner of Jo Ja Al Dairy Farm with his wife since 1979. He loved hunting and fishing. After their children graduated high school and moved away, Jack and Alice hosted a total of twenty-four foreign exchange students, who were students at Florence High School.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Alice Johnson; sons, Jeffery (Julie) Johnson, and Robert (Amanda) Johnson; daughter, Kasia (John) Nowicki; brother, Donald "Louie" Johnson; sister, Nancy Podnar; grandchildren, Madison Johnson, Danielle (Shane) Starr, and Sally (Jody) Kalkofen; and great-grandchildren, Madeline Starr, Emilie Starr, Isabel Starr, Katelyn Kalkofen, Trevor (Ally) Kalkofen, and Erik Kalkofen; many nieces; nephews; and special nephew, Glenn (Pam) Kolberg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys (Hank) Kolberg, Marion (Donald) Vassar, and Vivian (Alfred) Karle; brother and sister-in-law, Phillip (Darcy) Johnson; and brother-in-law, Joe Podnar.
A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Fence Town Hall, Fence, Wisc.
