Jack Randall Layne, lovingly known as "Butch", 81, of Waco, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025. A memorial visitation will be held 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.

A native of Waco, Jack was born, March 14, 1944, to the late H. Jack and Alene Layne. Jack grew up on a farm in Speegleville, and he often told his family stories from that period of his life. After the family moved to Waco, Jack graduated in 1962 from Richfield High School. He went on to attend both Baylor University and North Texas State. He made a career in insurance sales and by providing financial products.

Jack was proceeded in death by parents H. Jack and Alene Layne; his wife, Patricia Layne; and stepson, Chris Clinkscales.

Jack is survived by sisters, Jayne Green and Susan Trimble; wife, Frances Layne; sons, Jack Layne II, John Layne, and stepdaughter, Cherie Sivess; grandchildren, Blair and Wade Sivess, Caitlyn, Dylan, Dawson and Sawyer Layne, Kristen Chick and Matthew Clinkscales; and 7 great-grandchildren.
