Mr. Andrew Jackson "Jack" Mock, age 88, of West Jefferson, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Watauga Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 2:00pm at North Beaver Baptist Church with burial following in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service, at the church.
He was born in Ashe County on March 31, 1937 to the late Edward Emmett and Ella Roten Mock.
Jack retired from Sprague Electric after working faithfully for 47 years. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and always kept a beautiful garden, which he lovingly shared with his family and neighbors. He faithfully attended North Beaver Baptist Church, where he served with devotion for many years. Jack was known as a kind man, always willing to help his friends and neighbors. He was a devoted and loving husband and brother and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He especially loved his furry cat, Callie, who brought him great companionship.
He was married to the love of his life, Nell Severt Mock, for 57 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Jess Mock (Helen) of Creston and Bruce Mock (Wanda) of Warrensville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Cooper and Betty Mitchell.
Pallbearers are as follows: Nathan Roland, George Roten, Tommy Cooper, Scott Roland, T.D. South, and Thomas Mock.
Honorary pallbearers are: Jim Hartley, Dean Witherspoon, Joe Roten, Scott Hart, Jim Roten, Gene Rash and Robert Elliott.
The family respectfully requests no food, please. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:

Jack's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
