Milton, WI - Jack M. Roberts, age 91, died peacefully at home on September 16, 2025. He was surrounded by family. Jack lived his entire life in Milton and wanted nothing more than to stay in his home. His family was able to honor that wish. Jack was born on July 20, 1934, to Ruby and Jesse Roberts. He attended Milton Union High School. He married Betty Ann Rudisill on May 12, 1956. Jack was a hard worker from the time he was 14 years old. He drove truck hauling milk and cattle, worked as a carpenter, electrical apprentice, and other jobs before being hired by Liberty Trucking Company. He worked at Liberty for 28 years until they closed their doors. He finished his working days driving for JATCO and Boutelle Transport, retiring at the age of 60 years old. Jack enjoyed life! He had the gift to gab and always had a story to tell or time to listen, making friends no matter where he was. He loved all his dogs, country and bluegrass music, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. After retirement he spent most days fishing even venturing out on the "Big Water" known to the rest of us as Lake Michigan with his son Jim on their boats The Five O'clock Somewhere and later The Three Stooges. When not on the water fishing, he could be found at Milton Family Restaurant drinking coffee or driving his dog Tilly to Storr's Lake or down Madison Avenue in "Tilly's Taxi."
Jack was a member of Milton United Methodist Church. He helped start a conservation club in Milton in the 1970s and taught hunter safety classes. He was eager to pass on his love of hunting, fishing, and the outdoors to others.
Jack is survived by his wife of 69 years Betty, his children Jack (Judy) Roberts, Jim (Colleen) Roberts, Kris (Ward) Phillips, Patti (Perry) Kobs, Marty (Sue) Roberts, grandchildren Nikki (Hector) Guzman, Heather (Nick) Taormino, Steven (Nicole) Phillips, Allie (Albert) Ludwig, Zach (Mara) Phillips, Brett (Athena) Phillips, Charlie (Meagan) Kobs, Tyler (Heather) Kobs, Kasey (Shawn) Curtis, Carly and Drew Roberts. Jack is further survived by 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
