Obituary
Jack Rudd, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Marion General Hospital while surrounded by family.
Jack was born on May 4, 1947, to the late Marvin and Minnie (Crace) Rudd in Magoffin County, Kentucky. On January 29, 1988, Jack married Sue (Gustin) in Marion, Ohio.
Jack served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jack retired from Union Tank Car after working 35 years. Jack was a proud member of American Legion Post #0162. Jack is known for his humor and love and dedication to family. Jack will truly be missed by family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Diane (Stone); his brothers: Charles, Richard, and Jimmy; his brother-in-law Dan Lucas; and his nephews Charlie, Chuckie and Mathew.
Those who will cherish memories with Jack include his wife, Sue Rudd of Marion; his daughter, Tina (Tony) Montgomery of Marion; his sons: Robert Dennis of Marion and Ryan (Mary Beth) Dennis of Columbia, Maryland; his brother, Ray (Dina) Rudd of Marion; his sisters: Shirley (Jim) Smith, Connie (Mike) Hall, Brenda Lucas, Sandy (Dale) McKee all from Marion; his sister-in-law, Rose Rudd from La Rue and Jan (Ted) Elsey from Marion; his grandchildren: Landon, Alana, Blake, Paige, Wyatt, Kelsey, Megan, Logan and Archer; his great grandson, Jaxon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may come to honor Jack's life on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 10am to 12pm at the Mount Vernon Avenue Church of Christ, 947 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Marion, Ohio 43302. A funeral service will follow starting at 12pm at the church with Minister Jeff Bush officiating. A burial will follow at the Marion Cemetery with military honors by the Marion Area Veterans Council. Memorial contributions may be given in Jack's memory to American Diabetes Association. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Rudd family.
