BOWLING GREEN -- Jack B. Schell, age 74, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away suddenly on Sunday April 6, 2025, at Mercy of Perrysburg Hospital. He was born on July 25, 1950, in Fremont to the late Ralph & Carma (Rentz) Schell. Jack married Linda Butcher on December 12, 1980, at the Sylvania First United Methodist Church.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Linda; son, Jay B. (Haley) Schell; daughter, Wendy; and three grandchildren Ben, Megan & Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph & Carma, and his furry companion Buddy.
Jack was a proud 1968 graduate of Lakota High School and then attended one year of trade school in Atlanta for Broadcast. He worked in Lima and then in Fremont in radio, eventually becoming a Television Engineer working at WGTE Channel 30 in Toledo for 42 years. Jack was a member of the IBEW Local 245 Electrical Workers.
Over the years, Jack has had many hobbies and was very much an outdoorsy person. He enjoyed flying kites with his son, riding bikes, yardwork and keeping his ditch immaculate, and you could always find him tinkering around his garage and shed. Jack had a passion for photography and traveling with his wife. Seeing different waterfalls was a particular favorite, and every fall they would travel to a new destination. Jack and Linda were able to make it to 46 out of the 50 US states. He was also a very patriotic person and loved displaying US flags on his property.
Friends will be received from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 11 AM with Pastor Luke Shortridge officiating. Burial will be at Bradner Cemetery.
