Jack Clifford Shultz, age 94 of Crystal Lake, IL, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024. The son of the late Joseph and Mildred Shultz, he was born on August 9, 1929. On October 28, 1951, he was united in marriage to Betty Berniece Stevens, who preceded him in death on April 5, 1980. On Sept 12, 1981, he was united in marriage to Betty Rae Brooks, who preceded him in death on March 14, 2024.
During his life, Jack was an eternal optimist and a true patriot. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Midway. He was employed at General Motors as a plant manager, and subsequently left to start his own highly successful business as a manufacturer’s representative. He loved to golf, he was an avid gardener, and he loved a good debate. Most of all, he was a devoted husband and a caring father.
He is survived by his children, Deborah (Ray) Schmidt, Thomas (Gloria) Shultz and Robert (Yoko) Shultz; step children, Nancy (Terry) Carroll and Gary (Susan) Brooks; and grandchildren, Ryan Schmidt, Jack Shultz, Lindsey Goll, Jeremy Duckham, Joy Austria, Mekenna Ellis, Ashley Kruchko, Paige Miller, Kelly Rodgers, and Kirby Longbrake.
Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Leon Schultz, and infant brother, Gail Woxen Shultz.
Visitation for Jack will be held from 10 am until the time of service at 12 noon on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington, IL.
