Jack Stamback, 87, passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2026, surrounded by love.

Jack was born in Newton, Kansas, where he spent his early childhood, and later moved to California, where he graduated from Compton High School in 1957. That same year, he began a remarkable career with Sears, where he worked in many roles over more than ve decades, earning the affectionate nickname "McGuyver" for his ingenuity, problem-solving skills, and ability to x just about anything. Jack retired in 2010, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and quiet excellence.

Soon after high school, Jack married Dianne, and in the 1960s they moved to Northern California, settling in Santa Rosa on a beloved 10-acre farm and vineyard. There, Jack found joy tending to his vines, working on his tractor, cars, horses and caring for the land he loved so deeply. The farm became a place of family, laughter, learning, and lasting memories.

Jack was a devoted father and grandfather. He delighted in helping his children with animal projects, taking the family camping and shing, cheering at hockey games, and attending horse shows. He was playful and fun, known for his love of nicknames, gentle teasing, games, and shared laughter. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

An outdoorsman at heart, Jack enjoyed hunting and shing, appreciated ne wine, and took pride in cooking excellent food for family and friends. He lived life with curiosity, humor, and an open heart.

Jack is survived by his beloved cat Flo; his three children & spouses, Gregory Stamback, Jeff Stamback, Kara Stamback and Jennifer Kaatz; his grandchildren, Kyle, Chris, Chase, Hilary, Nicholas, Reilly, Noelle and spouses; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, daughter in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jack was deeply loved and will be remembered as a kind, generous, hardworking man whose warmth, humor, and steady presence made the world better for those around him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8, 2026 - Save the Date.
