It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Everett Williams, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this world on December 22, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Jack was born on April 4, 1950, to his parents Benjamin Franklin Williams and Ada Angeline Everett Williams. Jack lived a life dedicated to family, service, and community, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A proud 1969 graduate of Washington County High School, Jack's journey led him to serve honorably in the United States Navy as a Minesman during the Vietnam War. It was during his service in the Philippines that he met his cherished wife, Felita (Lee) Balais Williams, to whom he was devoted for an extraordinary 55 years. Together, they built a loving family, raising three daughters that Jack often spoke about with a glow of pride and an abundance of love.
Jack was a steadfast member of the Tibbie community, known for his warm spirit and genuine interest in others. He retired from the Washington County Water Department, where he worked diligently as a water operator. His commitment to installing water systems throughout the county exemplified his dedication to improving the lives of his fellow residents. Jack treasured the connections he made with people from all walks of life, always ready to lend a listening ear or share a kind word.
In addition to his dedication to service and family, Jack found immense joy in gardening and spending time outdoors, frequently logging with his trusty Kubota tractor. These passions were a reflection of his love for the land and the simple pleasures of life.
Jack's legacy will shine brightly through the lives he touched and the love he fostered. He is survived by his loving wife, Felita (Lee), and their three daughters, Cathy Lynn (Benson) Bolling, Sadie (Larry) Williams, Trina (William) Moss, grandchildren Brianna Bolling, Jordan (Conrad) Grammer, Kricket Richardson, Lizzie McLaughlin, Micheal McLaughlin, Nathaniel Moss, and Arabella Moss and several loving great grandchildren who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Jack is also survived by his siblings John Henry Baxter, Bobby Frank Williams, Silas Williams, Angie Cook, Wayne Williams, and Greg Williams.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Billy Baxter and Arthur Williams.
A public visitation will be held at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom on December 23, 2025, at 5:00 PM, providing an opportunity for friends and family to gather and share their memories of a remarkable man. A graveside service will then take place on December 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Williams Family Cemetery on Howardtown Road in Tibbie, where he will be laid to rest with Bro. Nick Williams officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Micheal McLaughlin, Phillip Rhodes, Charles Baxter, Tanner Williams, Michael Rudd, and Anthony Waite.
In this time of sorrow, let us celebrate Jack's life, a life characterized by service, love, and unwavering dedication to his family. May his spirit live on in the hearts and stories of all who knew him.
